This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in the Chrome extension No More Dark (the “Extension”).
1. Basic Policy
The Extension detects video elements on YouTube and Twitch pages and applies brightness correction and volume controls to the video area in order to make videos easier to see. The Extension handles information only to the extent necessary to provide its features.
The Extension uses information in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
2. Information Handled by the Extension
The Extension handles the following information to provide its features:
- Per-video brightness correction settings
- Brightness correction ON / OFF state
- Previously used brightness correction value
- Display language setting
- Information used to identify videos or streams, such as YouTube video IDs, Twitch VOD / clip IDs, and Twitch live channel names
- The title of the currently displayed page
- The current volume state of the video
Information used to identify videos or streams is used as a key to restore per-video correction settings. The page title and volume state are used to show the current state in the popup or on-video control panel and to apply user operations. The page title and volume state are not saved as stored Extension data.
3. Purposes of Use
The Extension uses the information above for the following purposes:
- To apply brightness correction to the video area on YouTube and Twitch
- To restore correction settings for each video or stream
- To show the current state in the popup and on-video control panel
- To control video volume from the Extension UI
- To keep the display language setting
- To show that the Extension is unavailable on unsupported pages
4. Storage Location and Retention
Per-video brightness settings, ON / OFF state, previously used correction value, and display language setting are stored in the browser’s extension storage.
Per-video correction settings are handled as a recent-video correction cache. When the number of saved items exceeds a certain limit, older settings are automatically removed.
Stored information is removed when the user uninstalls the Extension or clears the Extension’s stored data in the browser.
5. Disclosure to Third Parties
The Extension does not include a feature that provides stored correction settings or display language settings to third parties.
This does not apply where disclosure is required by law.
6. Sale, Advertising Use, and Similar Uses
The Extension does not sell stored information or use it for advertising or third-party marketing.
7. Use of Permissions
